McKayla Rose Maroney (also known as "Mack Air Maroney") is an American famous gymnast. She took home gold medals with team US Olympic gymnastics team, and also a silver individual gold medal in the Summer Olympic Games in 2012. Her parents are involved in sports, which prompted her to start the sport of gymnastics as a child. Her forte was vaulting. Being the sole athlete who successfully defends her gold medal from her participation in the 2011 World Championships, she also won it at the 2013 Championships.
